How to Paint Clouds on a Ceiling

!±8± How to Paint Clouds on a Ceiling

Is there are room in your home where you'd like to be a little adventurous with your paint and want to learn how to paint clouds on a ceiling? Many people have attempted painting clouds onto ceilings before but felt that it didn't look right and this is usually because they don't have the right tools to get there.

When you first start prepping yourself to paint the ceiling make sure to either remove all the furniture within the room or have everything covered as this will help protect everything. You should also place a drop cloth over your floor to really prevent any messes from occurring as you are painting on a ceiling.

The next thing you will want to do is prime your ceiling and sand down any rough surfaces. Once you've done this you can place your blue coat of paint that will resemble the sky. This may take some time to do but if you take your time and prepare yourself you will see that your sky will soon be coming together just by putting down the blue coat of paint.

The hardest step of getting your clouds on the ceiling is having the proper tool. You can't paint clouds on like you do painting a regular wall and you should utilize a large sponge that will give your clouds a little texture. Clouds can come in many different shapes and sizes so have a bit of fun while you are doing this, but at the same time don't go over board as it could minimize the realism behind it.

To really set things off you should consider making the inner portions of the clouds be whiter and as you work your way out use a little less paint. Having blue appear through the clouds isn't a bad thing so don't go over them because you see blue just leave it as blue will appear behind real clouds in the sky.

There are many ways in which you can learn how to paint clouds on a ceiling but in the end you will always end up having a similar end product. Your goal is to reproduce the sky onto your very own ceiling and this could take some time. Create a plan as to where you'd like clouds to appear and maybe get a little creative and make it look like you are looking out a window by putting in a window frame design. The possibilities of your outdoor sky indoors are endless so make sure to be inventive and don't let your mind have any limits.
